Skillshare is a site that lists classes you can take and allows you to list classes you want to teach.

From the website, “Skillshare is a community marketplace to learn anything from anyone. We believe that everyone has something they’ve always wanted to learn, and something that they can teach to others. We’re here to make the exchange of knowledge easy, fun, and rewarding.”

The classes are divided into five categories and organized by skillsets. Add classes you’re interested in to your watchlist.

Anyone can  sign up to teach a class. You develop your own class and set your own price. Skillshare keeps 15% and PayPal takes 3% of the remainder. You can create a pilot class to make sure there is enough interest in the class before picking a date and finding a venue.

I recently changed my WordPress theme and I’m considering changing it again. Do you like this one better or did anyone even notice? How much does the theme even matter?

I know I tend to concentrate only on my posts and ignore other parts of my blog, probably because I seldom read blog posts on the actual blog pages. I prefer reading blogs with a RSS reader, in WordPress, by email, or in goodreads.

I do really need to update my blogroll more often, since I do think blogrolls are a good resource for finding new blogs to read. What else needs to be added or updated? I’m considering moving or copying all links to a page to make them more accessible to people on smart phones and other mobile devices. Are there any other things I can do to make this blog more attractive to mobile readers?

What features do you absolutely  insist on having in a theme for your blog? How often do you change themes?

What do you expect to find on blogs you read? What are you most disappointed to find missing on your first visit to a blog?

Since WordPress can find spelling and grammar errors, why can’t it find spacing errors? And why does it think blogrolls is spelled wrong when blogroll isn’t?

Timeline doesn’t change the privacy settings, but it does make older items easier to find and can reveal too much if you haven’t kept up with previous changes. Did you know that each photo album has its own privacy settings now? You may also need to edit your profile to hide some things.

The new format lets you add life events, change the date of earlier posts and choose items to feature.

I’m using the free version, but there’s a pro version for $5 a month or $40 a year that removes the ad and provides for more customization, including daily automatic updating and the ability to feature or exclude individual people. The free version also automatically tweets, “Just used twilk.com to put my Twitter followers on my Twitter background. Check it out!” for you.

What do you use for your twitter background? Did you create it yourself, hire someone to create it for you or use a service like Twilk? Are you happy with your current background?

While writing this post, I clicked around on their site (reading FAQs and getting the exact wording for the options) so long that a chat box popped up in case I had a question or needed help.

Is it worth celebrating? Have you written or read an exceptional 100th blog post?

WordPress recently provided us with end of the year reports and my blog’s one year anniversary (in April) isn’t that far away. So, I’m not sure I even need to do anything special for this post.

I haven’t posted as often as I had planned, but I am still writing. There have been some surprises along the way.

I’ve written the most about Goodreads, but I get the most hits on my Facebook and Pinterest posts. It’s a little sad to see how many hits I get on my “What happens to a Facebook profile when someone dies?” post, but I’m glad I could help.

A cellular gateway is a device that allows you to use your existing landline phones to make and receive cell phone calls after canceling landline telephone service.

Ours (Xlink) uses bluetooth to connect our cell phones to the existing telephone wiring, but we previously had a wired version. You can leave your cell phone in one place, so it can be charging and still make calls in any room. You don’t have to worry about hearing your cell phone from other rooms because the gateway causes your cordless or corded phones to ring through-out the house. This makes it much simpler to receive emergency phone calls during the night and for small children to make emergency phone calls.
